Did you know you have to learn how to eat a sandwich from the end instead of the middle? That when you take a bite from the middle you have to press it so hard against your mouth you end up shoving your fingers up your nose?
Did you know that you have to learn to crawl through a tunnel head first. Otherwise, when you hang off the bar and put your feet in the tunnel first, you get stuck. Then the kid behind you starts to crawl in behind you and you fall banging your head on his head. It's a disaster.
Did you know that after you look into the end of a flashlight, it's hard to see?
Did you know that there are tiny objects EVERYWHERE that you can find if only you take the time to search? It's like a giant treasure hunt.
Did you know that a 15 month old's hand can only hold a maximum of 3 pinecones no matter how many times you try to add more?
Did you know that adults put some pretty cool things in ziploc bags and by 15 months old, you can open them and shake them out? Really cool bags have small items or items that you can crush to make them small like buckwheat pancakes that can be crumbled and sprinkled throughout the car. It's pretty fun because then your mama has to take the car seat out and everything in the bottom of the car to clean out the sprinkles. Then you get to play in your car seat on the ground. It's more fun there than in the car anyway. Nobody straps you in when the seat is on the ground.
Did you know that the phone charger has a button that has a really loud beeping sound? I guess it's supposed to be used to find the phone if it is off the charger. There is no way for parents to turn that button off. The best part is when I push it and run to the couch and watch my Mama run from some other part of the house to turn it off.
Did you know you can sneak all kinds of rocks and things into the house if you hold them in your hand tightly and distract your mama by wiggling a lot. Then when she's not looking, you can use those rocks to bang on the window, door and wall. You have to be quick though because she comes running faster than when you push the phone button.
Did you know that the cell phone your mama gave you the other day is actually the broken one. She thinks you won't know the difference but you're not stupid. You know it doesn't light up or show numbers or talk to you when you push the buttons. It's ok, drop it in the car somewhere or hide it in the house to show her you can't be fooled. You want hers back!
Oh, one last thing. Hold on REALLY tight when they try to put you to bed after you've had a cold. That way, they feel bad and snuggle just a little longer. Keep working them for a couple nights. Don't give up. Within a couple days you can get them trained to dance you to sleep again like when you were little.
Ok, that should do it. You should be prepared for your 15th month of life.
