Getting Ready to Say Goodbye

We headed down to Dash Point State Park to camp with Grandma and Papa.  We are able to leave our tent up so we can just pack our overnight clothes, some food and go.  Its so great!!
The major agenda for a night at Grandma and Papa's is a marshmallow roast so as soon as we arrive, we make sure Papa has enough firewood.  Edie eventually chose to use two hands for the marshmallow.  I've never seen it smashed through all of one's fingers before.
An after dinner walk to the overlook was just right.
This trip inspired us to have a camp out at home in the girls' bedroom.  They are "roasting marshmallows".  Lucy even got to light the fire.
Last week when we went down, there was a baby owl.  We were able to get pretty close.

We had a big party with some of our long time friends on Saturday.  Many of these families we've known since Lucy was 2 months old.  A couple families I have known since I first moved to Seattle.  These are the core of our friends here and the ones we needed to guarantee some time with.

We told the kids they had to line up to get cake.
Here are my Mama friends.  I can't express how much this group of ladies has supported me and enabled me to be a sane mama these past few years.  I will miss them dearly.  Especially our afternoon play dates in our backyard!

Edie and two of the siblings.  5 of the 6 original group had second kids and they are all about the same age as well.  Edie LOVES Hazel and Sydney!!  This is her crew.
