Some of you may know that neither Rodney nor I are working right now. Well...I have a few classes lined up but its not much of an income. We are living off of Rodney's unemployment and savings. The later is dwindling fast and we need to find some work fast.
However, we are trying to stay present as well and enjoy the time we have together. We had a wake up call this past week when we realized that even though we are here together, Rodney and I have been dividing our time so that we are job hunting or working on small projects every day so the other is hanging with the kids. We were not having much family time. Mostly because we were trying to create a routine and...well...someone has to watch the kids. ;)
But yesterday we headed out to one of our city's fantastic wooded parks. We hopped the bus and enjoyed a very slow morning of just hanging together. The girls climbed a huge rock tower, we hiked in the woods and snacked in the sun. Because it was during a weekday, we had the woods almost completely to ourselves. I felt like we were on a mini-vacation. It was good, really good.
