Super Daddy

Right now, there is a tent set up in the back yard with Rodney and Lucy sleeping soundly in it. We had a small campfire in the fire pit with Grandma and Papa and even treated ourselves to a smore. All summer we've been trying to get the camping gear to the state park where they have the RV but it just hasn't happened. So Rodney, with energy after a long day of building an office/craft/breakfast bar space in our kitchen and cleaning out the garage, asked Lucy if she wanted to set up a tent in the yard and camp out. Her eyes lit up with such genuine joy as she gasped and yelled, "YEAH!!, CAMPING!!!"

As soon as the tent went up, she gathered her teddy, binky, books and pj's. She nestled in and I haven't heard a peep. Edie and I had a quiet night in the house and now I'm off to bed. These are those moments when I'm just so absolutely in love with my family.
