"Damn it. She figured out how to open it!"

What a week!!! We spent 10 days traveling around the northeast while visiting with family and attending my sister's wedding. During all the chaos, Lucy mastered crawling, talking VERY loudly and is pulling up like a pro. We had not done any childproofing before we left so the last couple days at home have been interesting. Moments ago she discovered how to slide open the doors of the TV cabinet to access all the machines with the blinking lights. Of course, Dad is using this as a reason to purchase a flat screen TV and get a new storage unit for the accessories.
World Traveler:
Lucy travels better than Rodney and I. She charms everyone in the seats around her and the flight attendants. Then she stays awake until her body just can't handle it anymore. A couple screams and bounces from us and she's asleep. She adjusted to East Coast time within two days and only took one day of traveling to get back on West Coast time. Unfortunately, we are realizing that she doesn't do so well in the car. She needs the freedom of crawling and climbing all over her parents to maintain her sanity. Clearly being strapped in a car seat only makes her crazy! We spent a couple trips in the rental car singing for a LONG TIME.
I however, was exhausted most of the time trying to adjust to the time change and late night partying. We celebrated a birthday, a graduation and a wedding all in about 4 days. When we only see family once a year, we have to pack it in. Lucy rallied through all the celebrations with grace and lots of giggles.

Here are a few pics of the week.

Dinner al fresca at Aunt Jennifer's house in Boston. The temp was in the 90's so Lucy got to hang out in her scivvies.

Lucy's first major thunderstorm complete with lots of thunder and lightening. This was the cabin that we rented the week before the wedding. She's playing with Grandma and her cousin Erin.
10 month old meets spaghetti.
I was helping. Really!
Hula Hoop contest. This is my sister Steph and my nephew Zachary. She's still got it! If I remember correctly, Steph won the contest and beat out several competitors that night. Two of Steph's competitors. My sister Sarah and her fiancee's son, Brice. Brice and his brother Clayton were initiated into the Brogdon family vacation craziness. They fit it awfully well.
This is where Jennifer brought us together for her wedding. She was married on a grassy hill that looked out over this lake and the mountains behind. It was spectacular! We were only missing my brother Tim and his family. But this crew definitely enjoyed the week!

I would just like to state for the record that Steph BARELY won the hula hoop contest....I actually let her win because I didn't want to see my older sister cry.....
