Happy Anniversary X 3

We have a special treat this year as Rodney had to do a video shoot at a resort outside of Seattle. Therefore, Lucy and I got to come along and stay in a beautiful space for the day and night. We are at the Inn at Suncadia just about 80 miles east of Seattle in the Cascade foothills.

Lucy and I took a hike through the woods to the Cle Elum river. I was amazed at how much she was noticing. Sometimes she looks like she is moving at such a fast pace and other times she slows down and quietly observes the smallest things. She watched ants and spotted several butterflies that were greeting us as the made their path from one wildflower to another. She gets so calm when she is outside. I'm so curious how this will show up later in life. While the river was interesting to her, she did not like her feet dipped in it. It was pretty cold still. But as soon as we began digging for rocks, she was happy again. She did digest a bit of dirt as she couldn't keep the rocks out of her mouth. I could hold her off for a while with a binky but even that was spat out for the rock to chew on. I think teeth on a rock is a worse sound than fingernails on a chalkboard!

She was also charming all of the staff. There was an LPGA tournament happening this week at the resort. Did I mention it's a golf resort? I only saw men this morning but by dinner time the Inn was filled with women golfers. It was kind of fun to be in the presence of some athletes...if we call golfers athletes. Is golf a sport or a game? I don't know. Anyway...we've had a great day so far. Our room even has a library of books so I picked one out this morning and have almost finished it. I even took a nap this morning while Lucy napped. I wondered why I am unable to get that relaxed at home and realized that there is always something to do at home. I knew I didn't have to do anything here. It's a beautiful thing!

Well...Lucy is back to bed for the night. She sleeps so well even when we're away. As long as we have the rain music and her pack and play she's fine. I'm going to get ready to have dinner with my husband as his co-worker is going to come sit in our room with Lucy while she sleeps. It's funny how we get time together these days. Whenever we can!!

Oh...and today is Lucy's 10 month birthday! CRAZY!!!
