Well, while we are dialated to 2cm, my predication came true. This little one decided to get a bit more comfortable and instead of moving down further, it crawled up a bit. I've been wondering why I've been so comfortable the past few days. During the exam, she performed a procedure called "stripping the membranes" in hopes that it will help start labor. Let me know if you want to understand what that means. Let's just say Rodney may have permanent scars on his hand from my squeezes. He had to remind me to breathe because I was fairly surprised at the intensity of the pain.
SO....needless to say, it doesn't look like the kid is anxious to get out. We have a Dr. appointment next Thursday that will include a couple checks to make sure the baby is ok and then we'll determine when we will induce.
Last night, as the baby was doing its evening exercises, I had a bit of a conversation with it. I'm trying to convince it that there is so much more room to stretch on the outside! It's either not convinced or doesn't really care. Oh yeah, and the Doc seems to think that we're going to have a 8.5-9 lb. kid. I reminded her that we are having a big, healthy 6lb baby that's going to slide right out. She smiled and seemed to understand my need for a bit of denial.
So...we'll see what the week holds.
